Usage policy
eduroam in Korea follows the eduroam policy documents. What follows is the part users and participating institutions need.
Users
- Accounts are for the sole use of the account holder and must not be shared or transferred.
- Follow the policy of the institution you are visiting and the law. Port blocking and bandwidth limits differ per site.
- If you believe your account is compromised, change the password immediately and tell your home institution.
- Install the CA certificate and verify the server certificate fingerprint before connecting. Without that check your credentials can go to a rogue access point.
Participating institutions
- You authenticate your own members. Authentication is handled by your own server.
- Offer the SSID
eduroamto visitors and do not unreasonably block authenticated users. - Keep the logs needed for incident response and answer queries from other participants.
- Keep your institution record — contact, guide page, locations — current.
Logging
eduroam records authentication events. Logs are kept by both the home and the visited institution and are used only for troubleshooting and security incident response. Retention follows each institution's own privacy policy.
Prohibited use
The following result in immediate disconnection without prior notice, notification of the user's home institution, and action under applicable law.
- Transferring material that infringes copyright or other rights
- Unauthorised access, vulnerability scanning, denial-of-service attacks
- Distributing malware or sending spam
- Distributing unlawful information
- Interfering with normal operation of the network
